Rumor Control
Donna and I are looking forward to hosting the biggest ever 1/8 Mile Nationals,
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept 3, 4, & 5. The 1/8 Mile Nationals
is New York State's largest Sportsman event .
Recently there have been a number of rumors concerning the track and I feel that
it is necessary to address them.

The track is not closed. There will be no new
ownership. I have been the only owner of the facility since 1985.

The track is not going to change hands September 1, or
January 1 or anytime in the foreseeable future. You are stuck with
Donna and me!!

Donna and I will continue to manage and own the facility, as
we have for the last 25 years.

The entrance change was for the convenience of you, our
customers. (Not because of the farmer who rents my land!!)

I assure you, that Donna and I , along with the best
track crew, will be greeting you on opening day in 2011. And you can take
that to the bank!

Quick 16 Racers And Fans
Donna and I are pleased to announce the addition of two more sponsors for the
Quick 16
to be held Saturday,
September 11. Long
time supporters of the Quick 16 Program,
Precise Tool and Manufacturing
and Advantech Industries
have teamed up once again as the Title sponsors of the Quick 16. At the
last Quick 16, in July, Bob Frigon, the # 1 Qualifier ran a 3.80 at 191 mph.
Randy Jewell of Holley, NY was the winner of the July Quick 16, with the
consistency of the RJ Profab 1968 twin turbo Camaro . You will not want to
miss the exciting Quick 16 action on September 11. With the additional
sponsorship we are now
GUARANTEEING
$2000 to Win!! Runner-Up
position will pay $750, $250 for semi-finalists and Quarter Finalists will
receive $100 (1st Round Winners). On
Saturday, September 11 Quick 16 Qualifiers will take place at 3 pm and 4:30 pm
sharp. With the event being held on September 11, anyone with a
military ID,
whether active duty or retired, will receive
FREE spectator admission.

08-10-10 Smiley Blaske Memorial Race Re-Scheduled for Sunday, September 19
The Smiley Blaske Memorial Race that was rained out on Saturday, July 24 will be
returning to Empire Dragway on Sunday, September 19. We can't think of a
better way to kick off our Sunday program than by remembering our dear friend
Smiley. However, there is a twist. The $1000 to win in the Pro Class
has been increased to
$1100 to win Guaranteed!!. Smiley's best friend, Fred Carey,
of Dixie Auto Sales in Olean, NY has generously donated $100 in memory of
Smiley. In addition, the Empire Dragway track crew has donated $100 and it
will be awarded to the Pro Racer with the best reaction time in the "round that
counts" for the bye run. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

07-27-10 Quick 16 Returns to Empire Dragway on Saturday, September 11
After the awesome Quick 16 show presented on Saturday, July 10 the
requests do to it again were overwhelming. There is one twist to the program -
this time I am guaranteeing
$1,500.00 TO WIN !!
The Gear Slammin', Wheelie Poppin', Tire Smokin', Blower Windin',
Nitrous Nippin', Alcohol Burnin' excitement of the Quick 16 class will return to
Empire Dragway on Saturday, September 11. We can't think of a better way
to close out our Saturday night competition. The program will
run like this - One class, which will include Dragsters, door cars and altereds (Note: We will run door cars
against door cars and dragsters against dragsters IF we have at least 8 door
cars) - Heads-Up - Pro Tree - 1/8 Mile and
will be run on a sportsman ladder. Car and Driver entry fee will be $100.*
Payout will be 100% of entries. Fastest door car will receive $100
compliments of RJ Pro Fab.

securing sponsorship for the Quick 16 on July 10. Once again, the Quick 16
is proudly sponsored by
RJ Pro Fab of Holley, NY, R & R Transmission of Olean, NY, Bob Jaus Racecraft of
Brockport, NY and Southtown Beverage of Rochester, NY.
The gate opens at 1 pm, Time Trials start at 2 pm.
Quick 16 Qualifying will take place at 3 pm and 4:30 pm. Eliminations
begin at 6 pm. Crew & Spectator admission is $13, with children age 6-12
$4, and kids 5 & under are FREE. As always, admission price includes a
FREE pit pass.
*anyone who does not make the field may run in
Super Pro at no additional charge.

07-18-10 Attention All
Super Pro Racers
After meeting with the Super Pro drivers, they all agreed that they would
be willing to pay $10 more to race in an effort to increase the Super Pro
payout. Effective Saturday, July 24 we will be charging an extra $10 for
the Super Pro entry fee. 100% of the increased entry will be applied to
the Super Pro purse, with 70% going to the winner and 30% going to the
runner-up. Also, Super Pro semi finals will be guaranteed at least $50.

Attention all Empire Dragway and Dunn Tire Raceway Park points members. If
you support the 1st Annual Western New York Track Challenge, you
could win an extra $250 on July 4th weekend at Dunn Tire Raceway Park and Labor
Day Weekend at Empire Dragway's 1/8 Mile Nationals. Ralph Galluzzi, owner
of Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster, NY and Bob Metcalfe, owner of Empire
Dragway in Leicester, NY have teamed up to encourage points members to visit
each other's track. If you are a points member of Empire Dragway and you
win a class* at Dunn Tire Raceway Park's
"Thunder
in The Park" Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3 Ralph Galluzzi will
pay you $250 in addition to the posted purse. Likewise, if you are a Dunn
Tire Raceway Park points member, and you win a class at Empire Dragway's
"1/8 Mile Nationals" on Labor Day Weekend, Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, September 3, 4 and 5, Bob Metcalfe will pay you $250 plus the posted

We are pleased to announce that All City Auto Parts has agreed to sponsor the
Junior Dragster program and will be providing all Junior Dragster trophies for
